Cerbon FAQ

What is the purpose of a Cerbon Base?

Cerbon Bases act as a surface area to which you can attach a printed model.  The purpose of using our bases is to save printing time, resin material, and money!

What sizes of Cerbon Bases are available?

Our Medium Cerbon Base is 3/8" or 9.50 mm thick, and our Large Cerbon Base is 3/4" or 19.05 mm thick.

How do I attach a dental model to a Cerbon Base?

Three (3) drops of super glue is all it takes!  Any brand of super glue will work.  Simply apply one (1) drop at the anterior midline position of the model and one (1) drop each by the left and right back molders.  Within ten (10) seconds your model will be permanently fused to the Cerbon Base!

How do I articulate the dental model?

Rough up the mounting surfaces of the Cerbon Bases and your lab plaster / stone will fuse better.

Are there other benefits to using a Cerbon Base?

Yes!  Besides saving lab resources, using a Cerbon base will secure the model and allow you to use both of your hands to fabricate your dental device.

Are Cerbon Bases heavy?

No.  Our medium base weighs .75 ounces and our large base weighs 1.25 ounces.

Can you reuse a Cerbon Base?

No.  Cerbon Bases are designed for one-time use.
